About Us

We build the boring layer that keeps data collection running

UUIProxy started because a data team got tired of explaining to finance why their crawler bill tripled in a quarter. The product that came out of that is an exit network you can tier by cost, plus enough visibility to know which requests are actually expensive.

Mission and principles

  • Cost is a feature

Anyone can sell residential traffic. The harder problem is helping a team spend residential rates only on the requests that actually need them, and we build tooling for that first.

  • Consent is not a checkbox

Every peer in the residential network opts in explicitly, is compensated, and can leave at any time. Participation is re-confirmed on a rolling basis rather than once at signup.

  • Publish the numbers

Pool sizes, success rates and uptime are on the product pages, not behind a sales call. When a figure moves in the wrong direction we change the page.

  • Support that has run a crawler

First-line support is staffed by engineers who have operated collection pipelines. They will read your error output rather than send you a knowledge-base link.

How we got here

  1. 2019

    An internal tool

Built as a routing layer for one retail analytics team whose crawler costs had outgrown its data volume.

    1
  2. 2021

    Opened to outside teams

The first external customers arrived with the same problem, and the routing layer became a product with a dashboard and an API.

    2
  3. 2023

    Mobile network launched

Physical 4G and 5G devices across 120+ locations, after eighteen months of carrier agreements and hardware logistics.

    3
  4. 2025

    Unlimited gateways

Daily-billed dedicated gateways shipped for customers whose pipelines had moved past per-gigabyte economics.

    4
  5. 2026

    Response classification

Automatic detection of soft failures — challenge pages returned with a 200 status — and retry escalation to a higher-trust exit.

How we work

  • Remote across nine time zones

No headquarters. Written decisions, asynchronous review, and a support rota that genuinely covers the clock rather than pretending to.

  • Engineers answer tickets

Everyone on the engineering team takes a support shift. It is the fastest way to find out what the product actually does under load.

  • Say no to bad use cases

Credential stuffing and fraud get turned down at signup. A network's reputation is the product, and it is not worth renting out cheaply.
